Aldicarb has a slight sulfur smell. It has a melting point of 100 °C and a specific gravity of 1.195 at 25 °C. it is soluble in water, sensitive to heat, and relatively unstable. Analytical methods for aldicarb include thin-layer chromatography, gas chromatography (with various detectors such as electron capture or flame ionization), and liquid chromatography.
