dc.descriptionThe Compendium of Environmental Law of African Countries is prepared by ELI/PAC under the auspices of the UNEP/UNDP Joint Project on Environmental Law and Institutions in Africa which is funded by the Dutch Government. The objective of the Joint Project is to mobilize the expertise and guidance of six different agencies in working with selected African countries towards the enhancement of their legal and institutional capabilities in the field of environmental law. The agencies involved in this exercise are UNEP, UNDP, FAO, The World Bank, the IUCN and the WHO, all of which constitute the Project's Steering Committee.en_US
