BioTrade can become an important component of the greening of economies because of its contribution to poverty-reduction, job creation and to the conservation of biodiversity. This report unlocks Peru's potential in becoming a leader and a model for other countries to follow in their transition to a green economy, due to its abundant natural resources, which have the capacity to create a unique array of products, whilst offering economic benefits to the poor, and protecting the environmental assets on which they depend for their livelihoods.
