Mid-term evaluation of the UNEP project: Improving water management and governance in African countries through support in development and implementation of IWRM Plans

This report is a terminal evaluation of a UNEP project implemented between 2005 and 2008. The overall objective of the project was to improve water management and governance in West Africa with the long term goal of livelihood security and environmental sustainability. A specific objective was to promote and support preparation of IWRM plans in the targeted countries with special focus on environmental aspects. The objective of the Mid-term evaluation (MTE) was to assess operational aspects, such as project management and implementation of activities under the project and also the level of progress towards the achievement of the objectives by this stage of the project implementation. The Evaluation sought to assess project performance and the implementation of planned project activities and planned outputs against actual results.
